Simon Baverstock
Simon is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health and Practice within the School of Nursing. He teaches across pre-registration BSc and MSc nursing programmes and post graduate MSc Personality Disorder and MSc Child and Adolescent Mental Health courses. Simon is registered on the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Mental Health Nurse and Teacher. He is a Fellow of the Higher education Academy.
As a senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing Simon is currently the year 2 lead for BSc Mental Health Nursing. He is the module leader for the BSc and MSc Essential Mental Health 1 Modules and continues to work within many other module teams within the school of nursing. Simon is a peer reviewer for the journal Mental Health Practice.
Simon Joined the University in 2016 as a Lecturer in Mental Health and Practice. Prior to his appointment at the University Simon worked in Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in several professional roles. He has previously worked within acute mental health inpatient services within ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ Care NHS Foundation Trust (LCFT). Simon worked as a Violence Reduction Instructor for LCFT, teaching both the physical and theoretical aspects of violence reduction, conflict resolution and continues to teach breakaway courses.
