Dr Wilbert Sinzara

Wilbert teaches across a range of subjects in the School. He has expertise in Design, Simulation and Manufacturing. In recognition of his contributions to teaching, Wilbert is a National Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Wilbert also supervises undergraduate projects on Design and Intelligent maintenance.
Wilbert’s research interest is in design of machine elements is currently working on research in Tribotronics. The research is focussed on designing control systems for actively controlled sealing elements.
Wilbert has over 30 years’ experience in the field of engineering and worked in various roles in R&D, structural steel and machine design. He has extensive knowledge in materials selection and testing having worked in an aerospace material testing laboratory for 7 years.
