Success for second UCLan Act of Kindness Day
Preston was full of love and generosity today as the University of Central 成人视频 (UCLan) brought its Acts of Kindness (AOK) Day back to the city.
Throughout the day, staff and students took part in a variety of activities, both on and off campus, to promote random acts of kindness and a 鈥榩ay it forward鈥 mentality.
Morning commuters arriving in Preston Railway Station were greeted by staff and students who, with a little help from Virgin Trains, handed out freebies, helped travellers with baggage, offered free hugs and gave out flowers.
Many others in the local community got involved and took to social media to share their own acts of kindness using the #UCLanAOK and #AOKday hashtags.
Posts on Twitter included: 鈥楢bsolutely loving all the smiles, hugs and general atmosphere of #uclanAOK day Campus is a lovely place to be today!鈥 and 鈥#UCLanAOK thanking the paramedic Matt who helped my friend two years ago #heroes #spreadingthelove @NWAmbulance @VirginTrains鈥
AOK Day organiser Lorraine Dacre-Pool said: 鈥淭he second UCLan Acts of Kindness Day has been a huge success. Feedback has been amazing and the whole of campus had a positive buzz. We've seen lots of smiles, hugs and kindness both at UCLan and Preston Train Station.鈥
